CBF 40 : 2012 Comics In Review
If you're new here, you may want to subscribe to my RSS feed. Thanks for visiting!

NO HOLDS BARRED!!
I’d like to say that’s the appropriate theme for the 2012 comic book review edition of the CBF podcast. Bringing both Daniel M. Clark and Jon Stump onto the show together will do that.
This is where we dissect the year of comics and its future. Many bold topics were discussed:
- DC losing ground with its New 52 and the falling of Vertigo
- The good (Marvel NOW!) and not so good (AvX) of Marvel
- Image having probably its best year since their inception 20 years ago
- Our favorite series and what you should be picking up that’s under the radar
- Our concerns for the industry as a whole and what 2020 is going to look like
- Who the heck may becoming a Brony?
Agree? Disagree? This was definitely the most honest podcast we’ve done and it speaks a lot to where comic books are supposedly heading. Give it a listen.
I’ll be back soon to close out the year of 2012 with the Quick Pick of the Year!
CBF 37 : State of the DC Universe and Why Dan Is Selling His Comics

CBF 37 : State of the DC Universe and Why Dan Is Selling His Comics [ 1:45:00 ] Play Now | Play in Popup | DownloadWith 8 months of the re-booted DCU in the books, Daniel M. Clark and I decided to check in and see what the state of that universe is and whether or not it’s still worth diving into. The highs are discussed (Snyder’s Batman, the risks taken in other genres) just as much as the lows are (how exactly are we still thinking that Batman and Green Lantern’s unchanged timelines fit into all of this?). One thing’s for sure – it got us talking for a long while.
From there, we play a game of “What Ya Reading?”, where I praise the latest works from Image Comics and I find out that Dan is selling the majority of his comic book collection. Revelations and cliffhangers abound in this epic part of the show. We might have to reboot Dan when his books are sold
We have thoughts and I know you have thoughts. Let them be heard here, fellow citizens…

CBF 34 : The New DCU Wrap-Up

4 weeks of non-stop rebooted content from the new DCU has come to a close and we have an all-star panel here ready to share their thoughts. CBF’s own Mike Buechele and QAQN’s Daniel M. Clark join me to discuss the good, bad, ugly, and controversial of the 52 new titles that came out of this new universe. Come listen as we ramble on about:
- The sex controversies in the re-boots of Catwoman and Starfire.
- DC’s pick and choose of which characters get a full reboot while others get a soft relaunch.
- The diverse approach of branching out their books into different genres.
- We might also talk about comics on this show too.
All the comics discussed here are in the DC Re-Launch Store if you want to give them a shot. Enjoy the show and let us know your thoughts on the reboot!

CBF 25: The Year in Comics 2010
A few technically difficulties at the start. It looks like our original theme music files got corrupted in a move from one server to another so we’ll have new music for 2011.
It’s the end of the year CBF podcast! Tim and I are joined by our friend Daniel M. Clark, a fellow comic book geek and wonderful podcaster. You can listen to his podcasts over at QAQN.com
Everyone have a happy and fullfilling 2011!
