Because you know Mike and I never talk about it that much, we’re posting the latest from IGN Comics on what to expect from Blackest Night come this February. Click on the pic or this link to read the story.

For those that don’t know, the main Blackest Night book is taking a break in January to allow for multiple tie-ins to dominate that month. I’m not a big fan of keeping track of those whenever a big event is around, but in terms of the storyline, it’s a smart strategy to get each tie-in’s individual stories out of the way so that focus can be put back on the central series.

This just continues to be a remarkable series and these solicits, as vague as they may be in their summaries, could show that it’ll end on a great note.

I love me some Blackest Night… and even the tie-ins that have been released so far have been pretty good overall. Blackest Night: Titans was *amazing*, and BN: Superman and BN: Batman were good, too. The series tie-ins that we've seen so far, R.E.B.E.L.S. (meh), Booster Gold (cool) and the others, have been hit and miss. By and large though, I'm loving the whole event.

This is the first time in comics that I've actually wondered if the characters they're killing off, like the Hawks, are really going to stay dead. DC could very well wave a magic wand at the end of the series and bring everyone back Crisis-style, but it doesn't feel like that this time.

Even if they did decide to reset everything again, I'm indifferent to it now because it's been happening so much lately, both in DC and Marvel. Captain America, Thor, Superboy, the Barry Allen Flash, they're all coming out of the woodwork. And let's be frank – everybody knows Bruce Wayne is coming back from his caveman experience in Final Crisis. I'm just curious if DC is going to pull the trigger too soon and do it at the end of this whole event.

I know… in my head, I know. But they've done a really good job of not making it *feel* like that. I expect a certain amount of “they're not really *dead* dead” in comics, but I was really hoping they'd keep certain characters dead. Captain America? I thought for sure they'd keep him down for a good ten years. He was back in what, less than two? Bruce Wayne will be back before the end of 2010, thats my prediction. Barry Allen… they should have kept him down – Wally is the better Flash. But I hear you… it's easy to be indifferent to death in comics. Is there anyone that hasn't been brought back yet? I think Uncle Ben is the last!
