I didn't like how he was handled in Infinite Crisis, either. Some characters, I think, should be left alone - and the Golden Age Superman is on that list. They should have left him and Lois alone after CoIE. But a writer of Geoff Johns' talent is somebody I believe can make his character a lot more interesting (even as a zombie :) ). We'll see how this plays out - we might be surprised.
